Building a New Back Porch
We were building a new back porch on a home in Windover Farms. The attached pictures show removing and installing a new back porch. The architect designed this porch with girders and beams due to the size of the patio. We were able to provide the homeowners with a lower overall cost due to replacing the roof simultaneously.
When Should I Add A Porch?
It is also an excellent time to consider enlarging a back or front porch when replacing a new roof. Some homeowners are looking to increase living space by enclosing a patio. Others may be looking to make their porch bigger. Either way, the cost to tie into an existing roof rather than build when the roof is off can add substantial cost. The best time is while replacing a roof to add on a new porch. Also, this is the best time to update your wall-to-roof connectors (hurricane straps) during roof replacement.
How Much Does A New Porch Cost?
It would be nice to provide a square foot price to simplify things. However, due to the conditions of the existing home and the new materials requested by the homeowner, the cost can vary. Is the house block or wood frame that the addition is connecting to? Structure materials can determine the price of flooring, windows, and doors, among other materials the homeowner requires.
