Chimney Rebuild

This chimney rebuild by Florida Roofing and Renovations Inc. We removed shingles around the chimney and then prepped to stucco over existing imitation stucco brick. We replaced the damaged wood decking and installed new flashing around the bottom of the chimney. Then, a stucco stop was installed at the bottom of the chimney over the flashing. A corner bead was then installed on chimney corners. We used PVC corner beads instead of metal so as not to rust in the future. Part of the reason for this chimney’s leaks was that a metal corner bead was used for the imitation brick stucco. The metal bead had rusted and allowed water intrusion.

The Finished Chimney

At times, a chimney rebuild goes beyond simple repairs. This was the case with the chimney we worked on. We undertook a comprehensive rebuild, including new flashing at the roof around the chimney and applying two coats of stucco for a nice finish. We also installed a custom-made chimney cover and cap, ensuring the homeowner’s peace of mind for many years. The final result was functional and aesthetically pleasing, enhancing the view from the front yard and the street.
